Veteran Nollywood Actor Okey Bakassi Crowned King of Umuihuocha, Mbaise
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has congratulated veteran actor and comedian, Okey Bakassi, on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers in Umuihuocha Autonomous Community, Mbaise, Imo State.
AGN’s National President, Chief Emeka Rollas, conveyed the guild’s best wishes, celebrating Bakassi’s new role as a monarch.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, National Executive, Congress, and the entire members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, we congratulate one of our own, a member of our Board of Trustees, who has just been crowned the King of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State. Congratulations!” Rollas wrote on his Facebook page.
Several of Bakassi’s colleagues, including Alibaba, Kcee, Yaw, Acapella, and Frank Edoho, also took to their social media platforms to celebrate the new monarch.
Confirming the news himself, Bakassi shared on his social media handle: “NEXT LEVEL… Service to Community.”
Bakassi, a celebrated stand-up comedian and actor, has enjoyed a career spanning over three decades. In 2014, he won “Best Actor in a Leading Role” at the Best of Nollywood Awards for his performance in Onye Ozi.
