Omoni Oboli threatens legal action against Ghanaian TV stations

Nollywood filmmaker, Omoni Oboli
Celebrated Nollywood Actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli has threatened to take legal action against Ghanaian TV stations airing her movies without permission.
Oboli took to her Instagram page to criticize these local Ghanaian stations and the Ghanaian National Film Authority for not putting an end to these unauthorised broadcasts.
The actress, however, doubted the authority’s effectiveness in stopping the broadcasts. She warned that she could pursue legal actions against the TV stations at fault.
Oboli, pointing out the time and dedication thrown into creating her films, expressed gratitude to her Ghanaian friends for providing proof that her movies were broadcast on their TV networks without licence.
“I love my Ghanaian besties, colleagues, and friends, but you see those TV stations in Ghana, I’m coming for you! The guts to show my movies without licensing! If dem no arrest one of una, you won’t learn! Watch out! Coming for every one of you!,” she wrote.
According to her, the unauthorised broadcasts of her films is but an exploitation of her hard work and dedication. A move accounted for Intellectual Property Theft in 2025.
“You have no idea how much work goes into these projects. The sleepless nights I have! I’m coming for it all! You will pay for every one of my movies you have shown without permission! In 2025, you don’t understand that’s IP theft?!!!,” she said.
Omoni Oboli further stated that it is not her concern if there is no television authority in Ghana but she will make sure to take legal action against all violators.
“Maybe you don’t have a television authority in Ghana, but that is not my concern! Coming for you all! Clowns! Thanks to my Ghanaian besties for always sending me screenshots,” she stated.
