Tiwa Savage
Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has said she does not have the gift to sing another artist.
In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, the songstress expressed that she does not have the gift to mentor or oversee other artists under her label, citing the stress and responsibility of managing musicians.
“Everyone always says to me, ‘When are you going to sign an artist?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artist, because artists are stressful,” she said.
While citing the stress and responsibility that comes with managing artists, the ‘water and garri’ hitmaker stated, “I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artist is trending for something else.”
She however, prefers to create opportunities in a different way where they can learn and thrive.
According to her, she prefers to establish a music school where aspiring musicians can develop their skills before being signed by record labels that can support their career.
“But I do have the gift to help, which is why I am trying to do the music school, where you can go and later sign to a label that can actually help you,” she added.
Speaking further during the interview, Savage disclosed her plans to build an empire.
One that will cement her status amongst other self-made women across the world. Ushering her into a mogul era.
“I want to go into my mogul era”, she said.
