‘Harriet the Spy’ actor, Michelle Trachtenberg dies at 39

American actress, Michelle Trachtenberg known for her debut role in Harriet the Spy, tragically passed away at the age of 39.
According to sources, Trachtenberg was discovered by her mother on Wednesday at approximately 8:am, in her residence at One Columbus Place, a luxury 51-story apartment located in Manhattan’s Central Park South.

Sources confirmed that, the Gossip Girl actor had recently undergone a liver transplant.
While confirming her death, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said, Trachtenberg was found “unconscious and unresponsive” and later confirmed dead by Emergency Medical Service workers.
The NYPD, further stated that there was nothing suspicious about her death, however, the cause of death will be determined by the city’s medical examiner.

The EMS workers had been called to the building after a 911 distress call reporting a case of a woman suffering from cardiac arrest.
In recent months, the actress shared images of herself on her social media handles. The images of her looking frail left her fans wondering if she was battling with substance use.
The actress, however, addressed these concerns, reassuring her fans that she was “happy and healthy” stating that she had never undergone plastic surgery.
Trachtenberg who was born on October 11, 1985, in New York City began her acting career at an early age of 9 where she won her first credited role as Nona F. Mecklenburg on the Nickelodeon teen series, The Adventures of Pete and Pete.
The actress made her first movie debut in the 1996 film, Harriet the Spy, portraying the title character.
