Ayra Starr takes home the MOBO crown

Ayra Starr has clinched the Best African Act Award at the 2025 MOBO awards, making her the first female to win the award in 16 years.

Ayra also took home the Best International Music Act Award, beating Nigerian stars like, Asake, and Tems, South Africa’s Tyla at the event held in Newcastle.
Delivering her acceptance speech, the ‘Bloody Samaritan’ star said, “Okay, this is my first MOBO. And this is the first time I’m winning a MOBO Award—make some noise! I am shaking right now. I am nervous.
