Ayra Starr: First Nigerian female to hit 1 billion views on YouTube

Award winning Nigerian artiste, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has emerged as the first Nigerian female to hit 1 billion views on YouTube surpassing her fellow female artiste, Yemi Alade.

This achievement surpassed Yemi Alade’s record of the most viewed female artiste of all time on YouTube.

Ayra Starr overtook Alade’s record of 805 million views with 1 billion views.

Starr’s hit Grammy nominated song ‘Rush’ garnered over 450 million views taking the top chart.

With this new career feat, the ‘Rush’ crooner has joined her male colleagues; Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Ckay, Kizz Daniel, P-Square, Flavour, Omah Lay, Fireboy and Tekno as the Nigerian artistes to have surpassed 1 billon views on YouTube
