Anto Lecky Appointed Edo SSA on Tourism and Creative Economy

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Munirat Anto Lecky has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Edo State on Tourism and Creative Economy.

Her appointment, effective June 23, 2025, was confirmed in an official letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.

Lecky, a media entrepreneur and actress, is expected to play a strategic role in boosting Edo State’s tourism and creative industries.

Her portfolio includes promoting Edo’s rich cultural heritage, particularly the return and preservation of the looted Benin Bronzes, and supporting the development of museums and other cultural institutions.

“I write to inform you that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved your appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy with effect from June 23, 2025. The remuneration attached to the appointment is in line with the prevailing regulations governing the Edo State Public Service. Congratulations,” the statement reads in part.

Reacting to the news, Lecky took to Instagram to express her gratitude to Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve.

“I am honoured to serve my state and my country in this new role,” she wrote.

Lecky also highlighted her vision for Edo State’s cultural and creative future.

“With the return of our priceless Benin Bronzes, upcoming museum projects, and a growing creative sector, Edo is poised to become a leader in Nigeria’s tourism and cultural economy,” she said.

Lecky currently serves as a Special Assistant on Digital and New Media to Shuaibu Audu, Nigeria’s Minister of Steel Development.

Her latest role marks a significant step in her public service career, bringing her media expertise to one of Nigeria’s most culturally rich states.
