Mr P blames fans for P-square breakup, defends his talent

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, one half of the defunct duo, P-square has claimed that fans are the reasons why he parted ways with his brother, Paul Okoye, thereby debanding P-square.

According to him, he is the only certified musician in his family despite the praise heaped on his brother by fans.

Peter Okoye, now known as Mr P made this disclosure during a live event with AY.

In his claim, those who labelled him as “talentless” were responsible for P-square’s split.

He further stressed that their hype for his brother and former bandmate, Paul Okoye, whom they claimed was more talented, got into his (Paul’s) head.

“The reason P-Square split was because two brothers were doing their thing and some fans started saying one was more talented than the other and it got into his head and he started misbehaving,” he said.

Mr P however, explained that he is the only certified musician in his entire family and can’t be tagged “talentless.”

“They lied to you. In the whole of Okoye’s family, I’m the only one with a music certificate. I read music. But they lied to you.”

He further revealed that he sang, danced, played guitar and piano just to prove to the audience how talented he is.

“I have sung and danced but they told you I am talentless. I will prove myself today.”

Mr P also hinted at knowing who rumoured him “talentless” but isn’t inclined to disclose their identity.

“I know the liars but let’s leave it. I have sang, danced and played the piano and the guitar, is it easy?” he finally asked.
